
Coalition members have assisted in planning and hosting the community forums thus far held in Casa Grande, Flagstaff, Prescott, Show Low, Tucson, and Yuma to obtain community input on the plan. The CIR Board of Directors has adopted the coalition’s recommendation to expand its current board membership to include statewide representation. The CIR Board of Directors has established a 2-1-1 Arizona Advisory Board to provide recommendations and advice on expansion of its core functions, fund development efforts.
As of July 27, 2010 the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) unanimously voted in favor of designating Community Information & Referral as the lead agency and provider of 2-1-1 services in Arizona. We thank our supporters throughout the state including Valley of the Sun United Way for helping us on our way to providing this vital service to Arizonans in need. The official launch date of 2-1-1 Arizona is tentatively scheduled for February 11, 2011 (2/11/2011).
You Can HelpYou can support national 2-1-1 efforts including the Calling for 2-1-1 Act which is being considered in both the House and Senate.
