How do I get help with my foreclosure?If you're currently having difficulty keeping up with your mortgage payments or you've already started the foreclosure process, call 1-877-448-1211. Where can I find information about home loans and foreclosures?The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has information about buying homes, obtaining loans, fair lending practices, spotting scams, and avoiding foreclosures. You can find all that information and more including links to local housing counselors on their website: www.hud.gov What about the new Making Home Affordable Refinance and Modification Options?The federal government's plan to help up to 9 million homeowners keep their homes might work for you. Visit Making Home Affordable to see what help is available to help avoid or successfully work through foreclosure. You may also want to visit FinancialStability.gov to check out the plan and go through their self-assessment to see if you qualify for their help.How can I help others to get help with their foreclosures?We're looking for people to volunteer with us as Mortgage Foreclosure Hotline Specialists. Qualified individuals would be asked to work at least 4 hours per week during the Monday-Friday 8am-5pm work week. Duties include acquiring information from callers, collecting and recording data, searching for an appropriate counseling agency from an approved list, then transferring callers to live counselors for help.Would you like to help?
