César Chávez Day in Arizona
Born near Yuma, Arizona on March 31, 1927, César Estrada Chávez grew up as a farm worker and emerged as a labor and civil rights leader. In the early 1960s, he formed what would become the United Farm Workers of America. To learn more about César Chávez, please visit The César E. Chávez Foundation online. His community works and his legacy are honored with celebrations and other events throughout Arizona. While the official celebration day has passed, the event below is still open.
