Born near Yuma, Arizona on March 31, 1927, César Estrada Chávez grew up as a farm worker and emerged as a labor and civil rights leader. In the early 1960s, he formed what would become the United Farm Workers of America.

His community works and his legacy are honored with celebrations and other events throughout Arizona.
