Free Income Tax Assistance


Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is ready to help you with your income taxes for free if you are in one or more of the following categories:
  • Individuals with low to moderate income up to $50,000 (varies by region)
  • Military personnel and their families
  • Individuals with disabilities
  • Senior citizens

Services are available for low to middle income individuals with special attention for those age 60 and over.

PLEASE NOTE: Free income tax assistance is not available to individuals who are self-employed or those who received income from rental properties.

All sites run on a first come, first served basis. Sign ups for assistance are determined by individual Site Hosts or Site Coordinators and the number of people who can be helped depends on the volunteer staffing levels at each site. Busiest times for assistance are early in the tax season (February) and near the tax deadline (mid-April).
